Grosvenor launches latest phase of new homes in Edinburgh city centre
A new phase of stylish, contemporary new homes in Edinburgh has just been released by developer Grosvenor. Set in the £200 million redevelopment of the Fountainbridge district (birthplace of Sean Connery), these luxury apartments boast a sought-after postcode within a short walk of the city centre, close to the lively mix of shops, bars and restaurants there. Prices start at £160,000.
The new phase is called The Foundry and features 43 one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments. The overall redevelopment plan creates 600 new homes, along with commercial and retail premises, set in eight acres of landscaped grounds, all within an easy stroll of Edinburgh city centre.
With two previous phases complete, the unveiling of a new show home, from design firm Cate Warren Interiors, is another landmark moment for the scheme. The design of the show apartment marries contemporary trends with evocative images of Fountainbridge’s industrial past, including a former rubber factory which used to dominate the area.
“The Foundry is the next chapter in the successful story of Fountainbridge’s regeneration at Springside,” says Robin Blacklock, senior development manager with Grosvenor’s Scottish operation. “Since the development’s conception, the Fountainbridge area has flourished with an array of new bars and restaurants choosing to open nearby. We predict Springside will become one of the most in-demand neighbourhoods in Edinburgh, with luxury homes at its heart.
The location of these Edinburgh new homes is convenient for financial and business centre workers who want to live close to city centre, with road, rail and air transport links easily accessible.
“The flexibility of the homes on offer will ensure the development is popular with a wide range of buyers and we’ve priced the apartments to reflect the current market,” continues Robin. “We have adopted a proactive approach with tailored solutions to address the needs of purchasers and help ensure that a new apartment at Springside is affordable.”
